The mentor is there to aid their <em>little sibling<\/em> in navigating within the academic community and give them advice, as well as info, on how to make the best of their new lifestyle as a university student \u2013 from materials and study tips for certain courses, experiences with CEL and literature course groups, all the way to public transit information, the best places to eat <small>(or drink)<\/small> in town etc.<\/p>\n<p>In that, the student mentor gets an opportunity to help their peers, meet new people, improve their communication skills, attain a sense of responsibility for others, and maybe even strike up a friendship!<\/p>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/xa.ffzg.unizg.hr\/bigsibling\">sign up to get a <em>big sibling<\/em> or become one<\/a> at the beginning of every academic year \u2013 we&#8217;re excited to see your applications!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Big Sibling project is a club and department tradition, thought up to connect first year students with their older colleagues.
