The workshop will take place on 25 and 26 October 2019, and it is available to students on all levels of study. The deadline for applying is 10 June 2019, and the workshop is completely free.

American Studies Today – Paths, Paradigms, Strategies Workshop

25th and 26th October 2019
We are delighted to invite English language and literature students, as well as those majoring in other related programs, to participate in the American Studies Today -Paths, Paradigms, Strategies workshop. As a discipline, American studies covers a wide range of research themes and approaches to thinking about issues relevant for America. This workshop will mirror the thematic and methodological openness of American studies and feature discussions of a wide range of issues pertaining to contemporary American studies, from its disciplinary basis to concrete issues of the American experience.
The workshop will feature several discussion sessions moderated by doctoral candidates and assistant professors in which participating students will be exposed to a nuanced dissemination and encouraged to participate in discussions.
The goal of this workshop is to help students with scholarly ambitions form contacts with their more experienced colleagues, and create their original contributions to themes of their interest planned to be published in a conference proceedings journal.The workshop will take place at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb on 25th and 26th October 2019.
There will be no participation fees.
Those interested in participating in the workshop should send an e-mail to ASTworkshop.ffzg@gmail.com. We kindly ask all candidates to enclose a document, entitled “AST_surname_name”, featuring their name, as well as the name of the university program they are enrolled in, and a list of their academic interests.
The submission deadline is 10th June.
