Anglophonia: Possession – Call for volunteers for Organizing Committee

Dear all,

it is once again time to form the Organizing Committee for our annual International Student Conference in English Studies! We are therefore inviting all members of English Student Club X.a. to apply for the following positions (short description of your future duties included):

Social Media – managing our SoM accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), taking photos of conference-related activities and coming up with witty captions 😀

Official Correspondence – this mostly involves communicating with presenters and other participants; (year 2 or higher)

Program Coordination – work concerning general program direction, abstract selection & session scheduling; (year 2+ or relevant experience in similar positions)

Media & Marketing – media coverage, sponsorship and other forms of cooperation;

Social & Hospitality – a general category which may include helping out with everything from social events and activities to accommodation and volunteer coordination.

We look forward to reading your applications and having you as a part of this year’s OC!

The applications are open until Monday, 25 November, 23:59.
Students selected for the OC will be contacted by Tuesday, 26 November.

Anglophonia: Voices and Perspectives

International Student Conference in English Studies

3-5 May 2018, Zagreb

It is a pleasure to invite you to Anglophonia, the third international student conference organized by English Student Club X.a. As with the previous conferences, it is our goal to provide a platform where students can present their work and a forum for dialogue and discussion.

The conference will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb during May 3–5, 2018.

The theme of the conference will be English Studies, including:

  • Anglophone literature, as well as other art forms
  • Anglophone cultures
  • Translation studies
  • Linguistics
  • TEFL

Guidelines for Authors
The deadline for submission of your abstract is March 10, 2018. Your abstract should not contain more than 250 words and should give an overview of the topic you want to present, with theoretical strategies and/or methodology noted. We also suggest including 3-6 keywords and your key references (do not count towards the abstract’s word count). To submit your abstract, please send a PDF document (Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.5) to the following e-mail address: anglophonia.ksaxa@gmail.com.

We also kindly ask you to fill in the Contact Info form.
